Hi all

I have been in contact with another recruitment agency today, that tells me that INZ does not like immigration consultants to help you with your paperwork. :wah

I asked on the forum recently what you guys thought as he will not process our EOI until we have job offers, and you all said don't do it, go it alone. Thank you for sound advise.

So, I now have a lovely ex-pat recruitment agent girl from another company, who is willing to help us for free! Even use their postal address, as this was our major stumbling block as we don't get post here for 6 weeks at a time.

It was an agent that has be recommended so many times on the forum for IT jobs that implied we had to have an immigration agent! Now I hear that they are out of order suggesting we had to pay out and use one. Just to warn others do not get sucked into spending on somethng you do not have to have. We can now afford to take 2 of our cats to NZ instead of rehousing them :clap

p.s. Just had my first telephone interview (Angela) and got another tomorrow as a recruitment consultant, bet if I get it, I will be making sure I look at all foreign CV's!! :nice1

Yes, agents are in it for the money, when it is quite a simple, if laborious, process in form filling! Good luck with your application.

Tell me about it it took me 8 hrs in total, first I had not turned Java script on so I couldnot log in, OH IT expert me not. Then I got stuck on that qualification bit. I found forums talking about it back in 95 getting so stuck at that point that they started again!!!! Took us one hour to realise you just simply say NO after you have erased that section and started again.

But that glass of chardonnay went down really well after, and yes what a relief. Just keep looking now, pointless until the next picking date.

Up early as I have an interview in 1 hr so best get going have some breakfast

Well done on the EOI............ :nice1

It's a pain, I know, but worth it in the end.

Like StevieD said, its not difficult to go it alone, it just can get laborious, but think of all that lovely money you've saved............ :clap

Hope you get pulled from the pool soon,

Julie

I agree - dont' bother with agents.
I haven't used one, but i imagine that all they do is tell you what info and evidence you need to provide .... and you go search for it. That's what the guidance notes with the EOI and ITA do - so if you can read, you probably don't need an agent. And if you have a complicated question then there's always someone on this site that can answer it.
I wouldn't have thought NZIS have a problem with Agents, I would have thought that all they care about is that the right information is sent. If they need to speak to you personally then they can ring you. I would suggest that you choose not to use an agent to do something that hundreds/thousands of people do themselves each year, purely to save money ... when you are emigrating you need to get your hands on all the money you can - emigrating is like building a house extension - work out how much time it will take and how much it will cost...and double it to get your real cost!!!!!
Good luck!
