Hi everyone ,
I have spent the whole day on the phone ringing EVERYONE !!! gas ,elect ,council tax , tax office ( for refunds- yay ) Vet , mortgage , endowment , booked container , TV licence , water rates , life assurance ,cable , arranged for our buyers surveyor to visit , & called the plummer - leaky sink ....
think I'll try to open a bank account in NZ next .
Now have I forgotten anyone ???
ouch my ear really hurts :p - might have a small glass of wine to help it recover - its a bit early in the day , but I've been up since 6 am .

Hey Vic, Jan has a sore ear too, but it is since an box fell off one of the top shelves in Tesco onto the side of her head :laugh. Her head was ringing and she went a very funny colour... but she is o.k.
We gonna see you two at the meet ?? Probably your last one ;)

I've opened an account with Kiwibank.
Dead easy (thanks to some help from another forum member) and my next job is to transfer some money through Tranzfers - that was easy to set up too.
Hope your ear soon recovers........they say alcohol is an excellent cure ;)

Julie did u open the account over in the UK?
Did they need passports?
That's a job for us to do,just not sure of who to use or procedure, think i need to look at previous threads.

Yes - opened it in UK.
No - they didnt need passports, but they do need proof of ID/current UK address....its all to do with the new laws regarding money laundering.
HTH.

Have you redirected your mail yet?
Cancelled mobile contracts if you have then?
There is a kiwibank thread round here somewhere by a guy who works for them.... that might help. We went with ASB though, cos even though kiwibank offer free banking if you have mortgage, you get virtually no interest on your accounts unless you keep $000's in the a/c

I am so glad that Tesco aren't over here. It's nice to think that they're a little way off world domination still!
