Hi All,

Am hoping someone will be able to help me with this. My family set up a trust for me about 10years ago, now they are winding it up and doshing out the dosh so to speak. Now I know from them that they are paying CGT on it in the UK, if I bring it out here am I liable to pay tax here?

Have tried to contact 3 accountanty tax people and no one is getting back to me! Does that mean its bad news?!

Not sure if it will be any good - but you could try contacting teh Inland Revenue here in NZ. Im constantly surprised at how helpful they are. I have a nightmare everytime I even have to think about taxes - but when I had to do my return earlier this year - they were so helpful. And nice about it too -didnt treat me like a blithering idiot!
