Hi All,
I’ve been working in NZ since 6 March 2006, on 140 points. My wife and children are still in UK trying to sell the house and awaiting PR decision. I submitted the ITA documents to NZ Immigration Service, Hamilton on 31 May 2006 with, as far as I can tell, no issues of concern to them. I had confirmation they’d received the application, and most of the submitted documents were returned, after a week. On their website my status is “Application received”.
Since then I’ve noticed a number of members of this forum who submitted their ITAs after me, but have already been granted PR. I know NZIS have up to six months to make a decision, but understand that those already working in NZ are usually fast tracked through. I’m now getting worried that my application has been lost in the system!
Am I being unreasonably impatient, or after nearly seven weeks should I have received a decision by now. Also is it acceptable for me to ask NZIS for an update, or might they take umbrage and put my application at the bottom of the pile! (Paranoid, who me?).
I’d be grateful for any advice or guidance on this. It’s been so long since I’ve been with my wife and children, we need some assurance things are progressing ok.
Thanks,
John
