Now that we've been selected :D we're looking to find a panel doctor not too far away from where we live in Scotland. We know there are a couple in Edinburgh, Dundee & Glasgow but wondered if anyone has any knowledge of them?

I can't honestly recommend the one in Morningside, Edinburgh. :(

Hi

We've booked ours in Carlisle, maybe a bit too far for you. He was very helpful on the phone, his charges are £240 per adult (xray, bloods and medical) and £70 per child. Good luck :nice1

Albertz, what is wrong with him/her? Did you have a bad experience?

Just a bit , not all his fault but the attitude and the way he conducted the medical, along with the delay in arranging it means I wouldnt recommend him, I was going to suggest Carlisle too , if I had to do it again i'd go there ;)

We went to a woman called Ann in Glasgow south side, then had to go to the west end Nuffield for our Xrays, she was OK, although kept thinking we were going to Oz, and seemed a bit dithery... however we got it all done quickly, so thats the main thing I suppose..

Cant remember costs, but they have changed now with all the extra blood tests anyway.

I'm sorry Albert, but when I read this, I just burst out laughing......... ;)

You're very discreet, I'll give you that !!!

And get that kettle on - you might be making us a brew a lot sooner than you think..............

We used the morningside doctors for our medicals I had the female doctor and found her very good.We also able to get appointments quite quickly whereas as the other doctor in Edinburgh had a bigger wait. They were also helpful with as chest xrays as these were delivered direct to the practice. We also did not have to pick up medicals/xrays as we lived in Fife, they were posted to us.The only thing was the male doctor was alittle haphazard but he got the job done ! :)

Hi

We went to the Panel Doctor in MidLothian (can't remember where or what his name is at the mo......grief it was only in January).

The reception staff were really helpfull and friendly (unlike the Morningside lot). It was also cheaper and the Doctor was very efficent. I do remember that we also got an evening appointment, which was handy. He has been a panel Doctor for Austrailia and NZ for years, so there were a few other couples there mostly going to Aussie.

He did say that in the 30 years that he has been doing it he has noticed a dramatic increase in the numbers of people going post-September 11th......which was very interesting.

We also used the xray dept at BUPA murrayfield and they were fine.....oh and I think that they gave us our xrays on the same day to give to the Doctor....so no need to post stuff.

Good Luck

We are in Livingston, Scotland but due to work,we went to Aberdeen, he was very good.

By the way Remember, to down load and print of a copy of the medical forms for each person having a medical, as our doctor did not have spare blank copies.
