Well we’ve moved out of our house and are now living at my aunts until we fly on the 16th of Aug. What a stressful week last week was, quite emotional also, that said I can not rave on enough about John Mason International Shippers – they’re great! If everything goes as smooth at the NZ end then I’ll be as chuffed as the proverbial monkey. The packers arrived at 8:30 last Thurs and they had pretty much packed everything by 4pm (they left us our bed and did that Fri morning). The 20ft container was due to arrive at midday on Fri but actually turned up at 9:15am much to the dismay of the 2 guys packing, but fair play to them they cracked on and the container was full and sealed by 11am – I would highly recommend them!
And now the journey begins :-)

Well, you can probably rest easy then. We used John Masons, and had a good experience this end too on the whole. If the worst happens and you do have any problems - I can tell you that if you contact JM in the UK - they will get it sorted for you sharpish.
Enjoy the trip!

We did the stop in Singapore too - I think it makes the flight with little ones a little easier. Have you booked night flights? My energetic 3 year old slept for 2/3 of the flight to Singapore (we flew out at 10.30pm). Our biggest problem with Singapore was jet lag - not us, the kids. They seemed to think 3am was party time. We hadn't sorted the sleep problem out before we left Singapore and it took a good week in NZ to sort of sort them out - four months on and Cameron still comes in to visit us once a night on average (he used to always sleep thru!!).

We used john mason international. what a joke.
we had loads of broken stuff and shockingly 2 of our rubbish bags from uk.
some things they packed well, others they just chucked it all in a box, my wedding dress , momentos of my wedding day etc, i found in with kids toys. also husbands printer on its side UNWRAPPED.
It was the liverpool one.
very bad service with the packing , shipping, the rest was ok.
totally based on my experience.

 That has to be a first!
Did you get any compensation sorted? What did JM have to say when you told them what had happened?

Never been to Singapore before but my dad has. I’m prepared for the sleep pattern to be up the wall but I know it will not be pleasant! Ditto Avalon – I don’t recall seeing much negative feedback about JM but I suppose there’s gonna be the odd problem, shouldn’t be but I’d bet none of the moving companies have a 100% track record. Sorry to hear about your probs Craigmiya, I used the Liverpool guys and it all looked good this end!

We didnt contact them about it, didnt seem worth the hastle, i think the guys who packed our stuff just wanted it done fast, but to find my rubbish was a shock,
on more of a positive note john mason did give us a discount due to another quote from some other company being cheaper so they took £300 off our bill , my complaint realy was with the 2 guys who packed nothing else.

Hi
New to the forum, have followed for last few month prior to moving to NZ:
We used John Masons and were happy with service until arrived here found an invoice waiting asking for $220 from the Moving Company (I have seen the other thread about these hperthetical charges) this was b4 our shipment arrived. After several disucssions with Harvey who never addressed the query their GM is now making enquiries: My car is due in September hence chasing the first charge as expect another invoice for car shipment from MC. Shall post more details of move @ future date
