Do a search for space bags or vaccum bags there have been threads before about them.
We were told today by our first lot of shippers that they use clothing and linen to fill up any drawers or cupboards that can't be flat packed. Also to fill in voids to square off items - such as the gaps under dining chairs between the legs.
They have special hanging boxes for delicate clothing so it doesn't get crushed.
Haven't experienced it yet, maybe some forumites that have already shipped will be able to add their own experiences.

Hmm, I had allready packed mine in suitcases, then they wrapped the cases.... just ask them when they come to quote what the score is, I just assumed they would not pack them... probably made myself more work...

We packed some of our clothes ourselves. I had a lot of stuff on hangers and thought they would use standing garment boxes as had been used in my domestic moves. But they didn't. They had horizontal/flat garment boxes that they used as I think they take up less space.

With Crown they had boxes which were like a small wardrobes, and they hung a lot of our clothes. The others they just folded them and put them directly into a box.

We shipped out on friday last week using John Masons and they used standard rectangular boxes of varying sizes - oh and they wrapped paper around the clothes first.

ahhhhh so my mom shouldnt really spend money on the space bags.because they provide flat boxes..we have alot of clothes.most of it my moms and the rest to sell in nz....to me it would be quicker to do it that way use they space bags and then use their boxes and mark whats inside..
thanks for the feedback
