I reached 100 points in the quick check test.
I don't have a job offer and my occupation is in the media industry.
What are my chances to get picked?

By the way, what is the definition of "Number of years of relevant experience (anywhere)" ?
Is it the years that I worked in any occupation?

Thank you for your answers, Omer.

No - the "relevant" bit is meaning experience in a job that relates to the skills you're claiming.

Also with only 100 points and no job offer, with the current rules, you're unlikely to be picked unless you have experience in a skills shortage area.

What line of work are you in - have you checked the skills shortage lists?

I agree ... You'll unlikely to be selected from the pool with 100 points and no job offer, I was in the same situation in December. My suggestion is get a job offer then submit the EOI with 150 points.

I think I might be able to show that working as a journalist relates to future growth area (advertising) but I don't think that will make any difference.

I thought about coming to NZ to look for a job in general labour in order to improve my chances and get more points.
Do NZ employers tend to employ forigners and try to issue a working permmit for them or they prefer local workforce?
Is there a demand for workers in agriculture/hospitality & tourism that the local workforce can't fill and thus raise my chance that an employer will issue a working permmit for me?

If you are under 30 years of age (I think that's the limit) you could apply for a working holiday visa (not all countries have this relationship with NZ I think) and be a general or even seasonal laborer. That would give you time in the country. But to apply under the Skilled Migrant Program (the points based system) you need to show that you have skills/education that will allow you to do more work than just general labor (but something like plumbing or a more specialized field is ok). If you are a journalist, I'd look at Seek.com to try to see if there is anything in your field that you could apply for. Your best chance is always with a job offer in your own field.
