Hi
This is my first time here.
My 3 kids have all got gameboys, which I thought would be good for the journey from UK to Christchurch. Problem is, will the chargers work over there or have we wasted our money.
Hope someone can help

The chargers will work, but you will need a travel adaptor for them to fit the NZ sockets.
You can get the games here too, althought not bought one for mine here yet....

yes remember to buy the adapters in the UK, I only got one, so when I want to charge up my mobile, I have to unplug the house phone!
and I cant find anyone who sells them here.... :(

Hi
last time I was in NZ I got one at the warehouse for $3.99 !!! it does the job fine , the best thing to remember though is several 4 in one extention socket thingies from your country of origin - that way you only need a few adapters .

Cheapest ones we've been able to find in Warehouse (and anywhere) were $9.99 - we've got 4 (2 we bought from Boots for £2.99 and 2 from Warehouse) and we'll probably buy a few more - one is in permanent use for the Wireless Router :)

one is in permanent use for the Wireless Router :)
Talking of which we don't have one at the moment but think it will be a good idea in NZ - will probably have 2 computers and 1 laptop on the go and everyone will want to be on the net at the same time - so should I hang on and buy one there or get one here??

Get it there!!
We've got a Netgear DG834G - it's a ADSL modem as well as a wireless router, and has 4 Ethernet ports - and it was only about £40 from Amazon surprisingly enough!
This obviously assumes you'll be getting ADSL over here, and not cable, although you could link it up to a cable modem as well, and just use the router functions!

Thanks guys, you have all been really helpful. I'd have 3 very upset kids if they didn't work. Didn't give a thought to other items that would need recharging, so thanks for the reminder. Sometimes it feels like i'm going round in circles with all the things we need to find out first and remember later or forget forever!!!

its an idea to bring a couple of the multiplug thingies from the UK and just change the UK plug at the end of the lead for a KIwi one, that means all the things like chargers, computer stuff etc, can be used with out changing the plugs on them.

You will have plenty of things with uk plugs on, so bring plenty of extensions and just change the plug to NZ plug!
