Anyone help - the shippers pointed out that my 'Dyson dc01 absolute' would want a good clean and to tape new filters to the outside when we'd done it so MAF could see they were brand new - which prompted me into thinking can I buy the replacement filters in NZ and how much are they? There are two filters one is a flat one and the other is a round one called a 'hepa') - I can see if its worth getting a few in stock to take with us!

well they advertise them (dyson) on tv so I guess you can, have a search on the dyson website to see if they have outlets here??

Kat.....oops better get ready for work! :exit

I bought a load with me cos Morrisons were doing an own brand version, so not looked yet... hope you can get them, but like Kat says they do advertise the new one on the telly, so fingers crossed!

They might advertise them, but try getting them.

We got a new hoover (not a dyson) when we arrived and I'm really struggling to get the bags after 10 months. They are usually generic bits.

I've now been looking at new hoovers recently because pulling the crap out of the bag makes me ill, (even though it's ours), and the parts/bags shelf always seem to be pathetically empty.

Bring lots. :nice1

Do MAF really examine your vacuum cleaner filters? I was thinking of buying a Dyson here as we need a new one, but if they're just going to pull it apart should I wait until I get there to buy one?

We had the same dilema and OH price checked dyson in NZ and the price was compatable / even slightly cheeper in the $ is good. Our one is well used thanks to 2 kids and huge hound so I'll get a new one there and save on the container space.

I think i'll have to persevere with the one i've got for now as it does seem silly to buy a new one to take out there. Don't ever buy a Sanyo bagless, it is rubbish and very noisy, my son (16 months) is terrified of it. I have to do all the vacuuming holding him which is very hard!

Ours is well used, and battered, but I removed the filters, and washed the drum, wiped the rest down with warm soapy water, no problems, they really only check to see if there are any dust/dirt still in it.

my DC01 is a wreck - but still going after 10 years!
We brought it out brand new and never regretted it.

Yes you can get the filters here - I think Newbolds sell them - will check price etc next week as I need some new ones too.

Thanks guys - mine decided to konk out the other week just before some viewers were due around  Kev had to shoot on to his mums, she only lives around the corner luckily, but then when the viewers had been and gone, I took the vac apart and Kev mended it!!!!! :laugh

The cable inside had twisted and kept cutting out, so there was I thinking nice new hoover ;) - kev nahhhhhhh lets mend the begger!!!!! He then decided to give it a blast out with the compressor and airline, and it works a treat now!!!

So Carol I'd appreciate those prices before I buy any filters here thanks!
