I saw a couple of good comments about The Moving Company. Did anyone have trouble with them? We are getting ready to do a domestic move to a house about 15 kilometers from our rental (assuming the builder's report - the last thing left to do - comes out ok). Would you recommend them?

Or if you know of another moving company that's good or bad, please chime in. I hear NZ Vanlines does domestic moving, but I'd rather cut my own arm off with a dull table knife. :exit

Many thanks!!!:)

We used The Moving Company for the New Zealand leg of the move. They were absolutely fantastic. The guys who moved the stuff in from the container were great - getting everything in and up and running within half a day. Then they took three trips to come back for the packing stuff (Boxes, et al) as we were taking our time unpacking everything. Summer Croucher was our contact there and she was great.

I would whole heartedly recommend them.

We had the Moving Company in Chch - they were brilliant. Nothing too much trouble - they even stayed till 7pm to put the girls' bunk bed together.

Were they? I wasn't on the right channel. (I googled and didn't find a news story on The Moving Company, but did come across this "Fair Go" segment (http://tvnz.co.nz/view/page/410965/700637) on complaints about World Wide Movers, also called NZ Vanlines.)

Thanks for all the replies about The Moving Company! I'll give them a call.:)
