Those of us in NZ with superbank accounts, we got a letter today and they are basically closing down and advising their customers to go to Kiwibank (they will even open the account for you) shame cos they were the best interest rate around. They have sold their lending portfolio.

I think Raboplus may be the next best rate... at 7.35, kiwibank only offer 7.30 for balances over $2000.

Should have added that this is just a basic instant access savings at the 7.35, you can get more, but only if you "lock away" the money..

I'd looked at Rabobank too and that annoying one on the TV ads everynight at around 8 o'clock. Think I'll be going with Rabobank.........or blowing the whole lot of something nice.:uhoh

Think I am going to go down the kiwibank online call account option, cos you get a 0.15 bonus for no withdrawals in the month, and we already have a kiwibank mortgage anyhow, we only move money back in an emergency anyway, so should get than bonus most months.

*grump* hubby just pointed out that the Kiwibank 0.15 bonus is included in the 7.3%...

So raboplus it is, all forms done online then printed off, signed and will be posted tomorrow.

They are not slow either, they have a message on their homepage welcoming any ex superbank customers....

Have just loooked at website, might go for the term deposit. We're not going to be using this money for at least a year, so may as well get it working for us.
