Well this week we have;
booked Dorree Boner for the packing, still don't have a destination in NZ for them but..... They will be here the 31st , 1st, 4th and 5th Sept. Not ideal, splitting the pack over a weekend but needs must. I still need to sort the insurance.
Dog is booked in with Airpets, I would probably paid the extra and gone with Goldern Arrow but they dithered about whether they would have the kennel space for the time we needed. On the plus side Air pets is only a short drive from us and a very short drive to the airport so hopefully less stress for the hound.
OH has booked the first 4 weeks accomidation in Te Atatu. That was the first bit of culture shock. E-mailed the owner to arrange a money transfer for the deposit and got the reply back, "don't bother, pay us when you get here. We will leave the key in the mail box for you, congratulation on emmigrating".
OH has ordered a mobil phone for us using 0044, (I know nothing about this except that we will have a mobil number that we can give people in the UK before we leave for all those things that need a contact number).
Confirmed the flights with Trailfinders with Eva for the 6th Sept. Trailfinders have been great in allowing us book the tickets with the option of changing the dates if the house compleation date changed.

And Im finally begining to feel back in control. (well for this morning at least :o )

Hi Debbie you are doing it exactly the way we did . We booked 3 weeks in orewa for our arrival used it as a base to look for work and have a look around and then moved ewhere the work was it worked very well for us, I changed my uk sim card as soon as i got here as it was very expensive to make and receive calls ,they even charged me for receiving texts and calls. Just make sure your phone is unlocked so you can swap it for a NZ simcard when you get here.. Good luck for the move !!! :cheers :clap
