We are relocating to Palmerston North in September :clap . Does anyone know what documents do we need to bring along with us to enroll our kids in school in Palmy?

We are going to Ashhurst - 15km out of PN. Not sure what documents we will need for the kids school, I'm just going to get all he school records (that I am entitled to) from the boys current school, along with any reports etc and then hand them all in at the new school. We hope to be there in a couple of months too.
Have you got a house & job etc lined up. Let us know your plans, it will be good to hear how you are getting on.

Thanks Diny for your reply. I think we’ll just do the same :nice1 . However, our kids reports will have to be translated into English :wah . It took us so much time, effort and money to get the marriage certificate and some other documents authoritatively translated  . I really hope NZ agencies and institutions in NZ (including schools) are less demanding than NZIS.
I have already got a job in Palmy. I’ve got my work visa and I hope to get the needed visas for the rest of us in a week or so :hopeso . We have to apply to a NZIS office in another country. The courier we use to forward and retrieve our documents to and from the NZIS office that deals with our case is very satisfied with NZIS’s procedures and requirements. We have become well known to the courier’s employees. One of their staff even recognises our voices on the phone  . Nothing comes cheap though :uhoh .
As strange and crazy as this may look like, we started packing our household effects today :P . I have my computer available just for another 48 hours. The container will be loaded on the weekend and it will be shipped by the middle of next week. We are simply very optimistic, aren’t we? :hopeso
We intend to rent for the first year or so. We plan to stay in a motel upon our arrival, until we figure something out. I tried disparately, and with no success at all to find a house to rent in PN and vicinity on the Internet. I am just amazed :no . With this one and only exception, I managed to get all the what I needed to relocate to NZ on the Internet. I even got my job via the net ;) . Perhaps somebody can help guiding me to a good agent’s site.

Hi all, when we regestered our son in the local school they didn't ask to see anything. We had his school record which came in handy so that they couls see what he had been doing in the UK. So long as you live in the right catchment there shouldn't be any problems. :hopeso
oh thats not entirely true they wanted a copy of his passport and students visa.
