How much does it cost to have your passport photocopied and certified as a true copy by a solicitor ? We need to do this to open a bank account,

Try asking your own bank if they will do it.

I know for NZIS it had to be a solicitor or notary that signed but check with the bank you are applying to - not all of them request certified copies and ASB who we have just opened accounts with accepted a copy certified by our own bank (who didn't charge us a penny - if you are familiar with the staff at a local branch do a bit of sweet talking!!) :nice1

We got certified copy of something or other from a solicitor and it cost £5.

Be sure that whoever you ask to do it knows you only need the photo and ID page doing - if they think they have to certify the whole passport it could cost you rather a lot more!

I guess you aren't in NZ then; here just go to any solicitors office and they'll do it for you at no charge while you wait.

Also in New Zealand you can go to your local MPs office and they'll certify with no charge as well! :)

we did our own copy at the library & a local soliciter certified them for £ 10 & had the cheek to say eeerrr cash would be best :p

We opened an account with ASB & we did not have any bank statements as too many people wanted them all at once - the bank did us a printout & the manager stamped & signed them free of charge .

We joined westpac and didnt have to have anything certified i czme to nz and did mine but bev did hers from england and just sent photocopies of the stuff they wanted.
