Can anyone suggest or know about the best 'deal' available for ordering a new telephone line for the home in North Shore Auckland?
Are there any packages available with all in services?
In UK now you can get a talk talk package for about £29 a month which includes line rental, broadband and free calls in the UK and to about 20 other countries!
Or one can get packages with cable companies.
Anything like this available in NZ?
Thanks

Telecom have a website, they have package deals too,
http://www.telecom.co.nz/content/0,8748,200487-1005,00.html?link=hpr
dont think you will find it as good as the UK, they have too much of a monopoly I think
But I think Woosh are trying to break in

oh and Telecom charge to connect, too (my first bill was $350!)

Hi we use telecoms for broad band and phone and its about $80 service charge per month ,the broad band is nothing like the speed we had in uk as you are limited and after you have used so much at the begining of the month it goes to a slower speed. the phone however is really good they give us a number to prefix before we ring the uk and a 120 minute call to uk only cost us $3 at current exchange rate thats less than a quid. Cheers Cardy :nice1

Try Slingshot for broadband (google the website) and put the tolls through them. They have a reasonable priced IDD service as well as VOIP. Orcon is another choice, Whoosh will get you wirelessed :nice1
Telecom's prices are quite bad (actually quite ridiculous). Broadband has capped usage - so select your speed and pay extra for data usage. You can buy 10GB extra usage for NZD 10 with quite a few operators, but Telecom charges 2 cents a MB !!!!! or worse puts you back to dialup speed when you run out of data limits.

Thanks for your replies and info.
I am unclear about a normal landline.
Is one allowed or able to get a landline from anyone other than telecom?
If so who please?
