HI
does anyone know if there is a limit to how much cash you can carry into the country - I'm not talking zillions - but we'd like to have about $4000 in currency. Is this allowed ?

I think the limit is $10,000 then you have to declare how much you have.
If you're wanting to carry that much have you thought of getting sterling travellers cheques and cashing them up when you need them

You have to declare anything above $10 000, so $4000 would be fine.
Whether or not it would be wise to risk it, is another question entirely...
