I’m intrigued (enouraged?!) by the sparsity of posts on the forum from folks saying that they have been declined or even returned to pool. I’m pretty sure we’d hear from at least a fair number of anyone in these situations, even if just to ask advice.

Anyone else noticed this?

I guess when you are expected to fork out NZ$315 for the submission you would be careful not to submit false information or information that does not add up to the points you are claiming for. Also I guess most people here on this forum are serious about getting to NZ.

Perhaps that is why we have not heard of declines or returns on this forum. And maybe I am wrong...

Hi there,
We were intially declined from EOI due to the fact we had not really read what we needed to have - I am a nurse and had a job offer, over 10 yrs experience plus nursing degree etc BUT I hadn't registered with NZ nursing council SO my job offer couln't be pointed or my experience or my qualifications and we were declined.
After that we sort of spent 3 months plus getting me registered and then decided we'd been put off PR and got police checks and medicals with the idea of going for work to res.
When we'd got all the stuff I rang my case officer at immigration to ask about which visa etc and she reinstated the EOI and said we'd be sorted mega quick because we now had all documents required to hand. we were reinstated that day and PR is being process as we speak.

My advice is read all the guidance info and get asmuch sorted as you can - things just take ages this side and can seriously hold you up.

BTW I have poated in the past about our decline but it was in a thread not as a independent post.
