In the operations manual it says those applying under partnership policy can be visited unnanounced at home to be interviewed. Has this ever happened to anyone?

Hey Anna,
It didn't happen to us, although we were prepared for it. I think this could only happen if they had real doubts on whether the partnership was genuine or not. We hoped no one would come as our place was a mess most of the time and it would've been embarassing :laugh
I remember watching that TV show Borderline on TV1 a few weeks ago and 2 NZIS agents visited a couple where they had serious doubts on the partnership information the couple had supplied.
I guess if the information you give them is accurate and you don't have anything to hide, it should be all ok :)

No - this has never happened to us either. Unless of course they visted under the guise of a meter reader or gardener !!!

Thanks. There are a couple of reasons why our application may look a bit dodgy so I'll be prepared for it anyway.
It's not a big deal (nothing to hide, so they say) but seems rather unnerving, plus I balk at the idea of having to keep the house vaguely tidy...
