Please settle a mild dispute (biut you know how these things can fester LOL) ;) - when the shippers come to pack everything and you already have LOTS of boxes already done and stacked in your garage do they unpack them all and put them in their own boxes or not ? By the way - if the answer is they don't have to - OH says he will make them because we're paying a small fortune for the service !!! :o

Don't know the answer to this, but I was thinking the same question the other day. I came to the conclusion that they probably should unpack and repack, otherwise they wouldn't be able to verify exactly what's in the container.
I'm hoping they do anyway. We've got 3-4 boxes in our garage that I dare not touch because of the very likely presence of big spiders!:uhoh

Our shippers told us it was OK to pack boxes (they left us lots flat in the garage and some tape), but said not to seal them so that they could look inside and check contents.
They then list the boxes and mark them as packed by owner. If anything is damaged in the box when it gets to the other side then money is deducted from the pay of ther person who packed the box, this is why each box was marked with someones initials. They all took a great deal of care when wrapping and packing - we are using Crown.

Our excellent shippers :laugh:laugh:laugh told us that the 15 boxes we had packed (and carted from house to house) would be re-packed by them, at their warehouse, no problemo.
They weren't repacked and were marked on the inventory and outside of the box wrapping as packed by owner. MAF opened and looked at most of them.
If you get the chance for the shippers to pack them, take it.
