We've sent in our passports and waiting to receive the blue stickers. Is the year deadline from the actual date the stickers were put in our passports or is it from the date of our ITA?

Can give you a reply, its from the date
the stamps are put in the passport and you can then see
it on the immigration website when you log in, status is on that day
changed to APPROVED and valid till ....

actually our passports were stamped this afternoon and
visa valid till 23 Aug 2007 :D :cheers

Although, you can delay having you blue stickers for up to 6 months after the decision has been made, but from then it is a year as Pimmar says.

This may sound like a silly question but once you have been approved can you get your Blue Stickers immediately?

If you left your passports with NZIS after submitting ITA they will fit the stickers and post em within a couple of weeks. If not, they will send you a letter saying APPROVED IN PRINCIPLE, then you send the passports (and migrant levy cheque) and they come back stamped in about two weeks. You can take em in to NZ house to be stamped while-u-wait, but they stress this is only in "matters of urgency", ie, gotta plane to catch tomorrow.
If however you want to extend the deadline, then just dont sedn them in for a few months. You have six months after Approved letter to send them in. BUT IF YOU FORGET IT YOU HAVE TO START AGAIN! (do not pass Go, do not collect £200 :laugh )

Yes! We took ours up to NZ House the day after we were approved as we had a plane to catch 4 days later. :D

Thanks everyone. We waited six months to pay the Levy Fee and will probably try to move as close to the year deadline as possible.
