I'm confused by a few things I've read here about the 2-year work-permit possibility for non-job EOIs.

What worries me is whether the POL-or-Accredited-employer criteria that exist for the standard NZIS 'Work to Residence' program also apply to the 2-year permit mooted for EOI no-job-offer applicants.

One thread has me thinking this is the case. Oh-oh. But if so, why haven't I read that anywhere else? Nowhere else (yet!) have I read that the EOI-based 2-year-permit option must be tied to the POL/accredited-employer standards in the way that the standard WTR system is.

Help?

Cheers,
Matt.

One other thing: once an EOI has been submitted -- with passport numbers inside, don't forget! -- how risky is it for the principal app. to show up in NZ just for a visit?
Might a computer be tied to the airport customs, suggesting that "Oi! This perosn is looking for work, I bet!"... even if the 'visit only' motive is genuine??

Matt.

MB. There are a few people on here who have gone out under those circumstances and not had a problem. I think that once you have a decision in prinicipal they must expect you to go out job hunting.
