I'm pretty certain NZ has a complete ban on import of live birds (except maybe via zoos?) You should try searching on the MAF site.

Wasn't there something earlier this year about parrots being banned?

Roman wassisname the chelsea boss, had to leave his posh parrot on his posh yacht. It was not allowed to land.

Unfortunately birds are banned

We've got a cockatiel that we've had for 17 yrs who's going to live with my brother in law and his wife.

Luckily he already knows them, as he can be funny with strangers.
We've also got a 10 yr old labrador who is too old to go, apart from not being able to afford it, she would never cope with the heat in auckland, it makes her ill here when it gets too hot.

So tomorrow she goes with the nice lady from the labrador rescue centre to her new family.
We are coping with it at the moment as it doesnt seem real yet, but tomorrow isnt going to be a good day ,making me cry just writing it down.

Sorry to hear this. It is very hard to let a loved pet go, but you are doing it for the right reasons and I'm sure the home you have found for her will be lovely. Hope tomorrow goes as well. :)
