hi,
This thread took the thoughs from my head, I have a super ann pension which i stopped paying into some months ago ( thinking we'd be in NZ sooner) and have been wondering how things work over there and if health boards have a scheme. hubby has pensions too that'll need transfering over.
Nic where is Jeremy based - we will be off to Auck.
Thanks linda xxx

There isn't a super an scheme for nurses but they are trying to get one as part of the latest pay negotiations. Wok schemes are rare, Richard has got one where he puts in6% of his salary and the employer puts in9% apparently this is very good for NZ.
As for transfers we are looking into transferring a couple of smaller pensions out here into a NZ scheme, believe they have a flexible scheme where after a ceratin amount of time you can get your hands on the cash as a lump sum. I am going to talk to some people at the bank to get some advice. There seem to be quite a few ads in the paper for people who will do this for you and no doubt charge you hefty commision in the process.
We both have final salary schemes in the UK as well and I have heard although again it will depend on your own circumstances that these are far superior to anything you will get over here so we will be leaving those untouched.
Let me know how you go on with broadbase and I will let you know if I find anything out from the bank.

He works with people all over the country..although based in chch, broadbase is nationwide. Susanlin has used him...pm her and get the real! low down!!!
I know a few of his clients are in Auckland as he advertises in outlook and destination nz..if you have those papers (in the uK) take a look at some of his articles. He seems to know his stuff
good luck,
