Hi all ,
An update post here . We landed on Friday 25 th August after enjoying the view over the alps - it looked very cold & we smugly pulled the heavy coats we had lugged all the way from manchester. It was a relatively quiet flight so we cleared immigration & customs very quickly . It was nice to be met by my family & Paul myself & the family headed out into the car park - wow ! it was warm 18-19 c !!! Christchurch had laid on fantastic weather for us !
The next few days were a bit of a blur - weekend - endless visitors & social obligations , we have found a very nice pub ,The Brickworks - reasonably local ,good beer , great wine ,fantastic food & coffee , clean oh so clean & lovley staff too !! - Paul is hooked LOL I may never see him again :laugh
Monday we looked at cars & sorted the bank out , tuesday we test drove the cars ,did the dreaded health & life insurance stuff , oh car insurance too . Wednesday we sorted IRD numbers (it took literally 5 minutes) transferred ownership of vehicles to us & then collected them !!! YAY !!!! The Sunday best car is a 4x4 nissan terrano regulus - it is mint !! 9 years old & only done 45000 ks , the everyday work horse is not so flash a mitsibishi (sp ?) chariot 1991 - 120000ks -but still a neat clean & presentable car . Personally I'm delighted - its a massive step up from doris my trusty UK bicycle :D
Today I'm borrowing my sisters computer to update you all , not too much on today - need to join the AA - as we are off on our SI tour on Sunday.
think thats all - no wonderous pearls of wisdom , more of a burble of words i'm afraid (can I still blame jet lag ? )
