Hi there folks, well we sign the papers on our future home on Monday, check out our blog for a brief look at our future home.
We get the keys on Friday the 8th and will move in once the boys have arrived and got over the jetlag! :clap
Septembers looking at being a great month...we are now land owners and my boys are coming home!
(for those too lazy to read the blog, its 8+ acres, 4 bedroomed brick house (with animals and farm machinery) that is insulated and has a double brick garage and workshop oh and farm buildings as well!)
We got it for $239,000 in the end, but that included 2 horses, chooks etc and 2 cats!
Will have to change our location to Greenhills, near Omaui Southland when we move in (except you cant fit that in so I may leave it as Invercargill or shall I put BLUFF as Greenhills is about half way between both places!)
Cheers
Kat and Rob...looking forward to living the "good life"
PS I bought Rob his first pair of GUMBOOTS today!... so he can go out and feed the chooks and horses while I pick the veggies for dinner! :laugh

Well Done, it sounds so lovely. I'm amazed by how quickly the sale has gone through. Is this normal in NZ?
I bet you are so excited about your boys coming over.

Yes NZ sales go through quicker than in the UK.
The owners wanted us to exchange even earlier, to start with they needed to give their tennants in their Town house 6 wks notice but then a week later the tennant said " I'm moving out on the 19th August!"
The owners of the house had not asked for a bond or anything so they didnt have much say in the matter, so we could have moved it nearer to say the 27th August for signing, but I had my Show Jumping lessons so I was too busy! :nice1
So I said the 8th Sept...as I have the day off, due to the boys arriving on the 7th.
Going unconditional happens quickly too, we put in stipulations to that such as Mortgage approval, Lim reports. other wise if you have cash it can move even quicker!

Would be fab to have a nice person with a plane.... I would love to come and meet you guys, after missing your arrival in NZ by two hours!!! (we would have bought the little fella too so you could have got a baby cuddle)
Did not realise your boys were arriving so soon..... you must be sooooo excited.... (and probably a little bit nervous)

Hi Kat & Bob
so happy for you. :cheers
Just curious to know if you had been in farming as well in UK or is it your NZ dream that is coming true.
Did you receive my email?

Hi Glo, yeah I got your email...will look at the site tomorrow, and no we didn't have land in the UK, my poor dad worked his butt off working away from home 5days a week and spent all weekend doing chores at the rented stables!
Poor thing, I feel for him now that I am an adult! (well in age anyway ;) )
Yes funny how I had to travel half way around the world to afford my own place.
But it should be a fun learning curve (I hope!) what with Vegie patch, animals and land management....Muck picking versus Harrowing and stock rotation
Watch my blog to see how we get on!

Wow that was quick, Kat! Congratulations! :cheers
Good timing too, having all that muscle power to help you move in. :clap
Maybe we should just hire a coach for Kat's housewarming? Marie and Sal could start off 'oop north' and wander to Kat's via Welly and CC, picking up forumites on the way? Of course we'd need a driver, hmmm who doesn't drink?
