Is there anyone that could help with a some information for resizing a 22 carat gold ring please? :D

Is 22 carat difficult to obtain in NZ? How much does it cost for a 'lump' (or whatever the technical term is for a nugget of gold)?

Havent got a flippin' clue :D

BUT - try having a word with Goldsmiths. They are at the bottom of the Dominion Building (Its on the opposite diagonal corner to the main Library - between Balti House and Wildflowers). Ive only ever got my rings cleaned there - but the jewellry is real nice (not that this really helps - but you have an excuse to gawp), and ive found them friendly! With apinch of luck - they can help you out!

The ring is with a jeweller in town at the mo. It's just that they've quoted me $720 for re sizing my nan's wedding ring. Ok she was tiny, it is old gold and it's got to go up 7 sizes but it seems an awful lot of money.

We've used this jeweller several times before, infact OH went in, designed a bracelet on a post-it note and he had it made by them, for me at christmas.

I don't think they are cowboys at all, but I just need a second opinion, coz it seems an awful awful lot of money and where else would I ask, but here. :laugh

I took the ring to another jeweller in town and they quoted $320 for the same thing.
