Hi there,

Thanks to everyone who replied to my post yesterday, it was much appreciated.

Today we recieved a package with a big folder about living in New Zealand and a letter saying our application has been accepted for consideration and is currently awaiting allocation to a case officer.

For people who have been in this postion, when applying for Partnership, how long did it take you to be allocated a case officer, or were you allocated one
at all?

We are still planning to visit the offices when we are in London next week and hopefully will be able to squeeze more info out in person.

It just seems it took a long time to get to this stage, I really thought we would have been assigned to someone by now. :(

I was never actually allocated a case officer as such. I was given the name of the person who had filed my application once it was received, but on the single occasion I actually spoke to her she told me that she wasn't a 'case officer'. Can't remember the exact wording but she said something along the lines of partnership applicants don't actually get a case officer unless there's extra 'investigation/information' required. I don't remember who, but I'm pretty sure that somebody else on this forum (applying through partnership category) DID get allocated a CO. Just the luck of the draw maybe.

I still say call in next week- what harm can it do? At least you know the ball is rolling now.

Hi Lily,

Both Dawn and I applied under the partnership policy in the UK recently adn it was all very quick for both of us. See my signature.....and Dawn's was pretty much the same.

I was really hoping the package I recieved today contained my husbands passport with the big blue sticker in it.


By the sound of your replies it seems that now things will move more quickly which is great.
