Hiya

Just a quick question to anyone in the Orewa area. I will be there next week thursday for 1 week with my 2 and a half year old son. What is there to do (besides the beach). Any playgroups or something like that? Maybe somewhere I can drop him off to play for an hour...or eight?

Also where is the best/cheapest place to buy diapers in the area? Coming from our stop over in Singapore and the sizes here ...well lets just say its on the small side.

Thanks

Robin.

Hi Robin,

I've only been in Orewa for a week myself and without any kids will not be a great deal of help to you. The following link does tell you a bit about Orewa and what is on offer: -

we lived in Orewa for our first 3 0r 4 weeks when we arrived . lovely place but the beach is about it. Dont know about playgroups as our kids are to old but theres a couple of big supermrkets for diapers Countdown and New world so i dont think you wil be stuck for those. the tourist info office there is really helpful they will go well out of there way for you . i bet they know a playgroup they can recomend i would e mail or give them a ring they really did go the ' Extra mile' for us. Good luck with the visit. Cheers Cardy

There are 2 playgroups that spring to my mind,

Lollipops,

And I'm afraid there is another on Centreway rd, next to Orewa high school that I cant remember the name of.

Hope this helps. yes as Cardy says there are two large supermarkets there to pick up all your grocery needs.
