Does anyone know whether you can use actual tea chests to box things up in or will MAF have aproblem with this? There are always tea leaves still in the boxes.
We live quite close to a tea factory here in the UK and could get hold of lots of solid boxes but won't bother if it will cause a problem?

I thought i was well clever when I picked one up off the streets (yes we had them hanging around street corners!!) and was then told that you don't use them by our shipper cos of exactly the reason you have said. I was told it was a no-no. Do MAF have a website..could you contact them via e mail and ask them directly?

You can't use wooden containers unless they are ISPM 15 standard for Wood Packaging (pressure treated/fumigated and stamped).

No wooden crates unless it is treated as Jo has said.
But Kev managed to buy a load (50 ish) plastic crates that are stackable in two sizes, from a sale he went to. We have packed quite a few stuff ourselves in them, books, kids games, videos, etc.
Kev has also used them for some of the heavy workshop items that would have simply ripped the bottom out of the packers boxes.
So if you can get hold of a few plastic crates they should be fine! :nice1
