I'm heading to NZ in a couple of weeks from Ireland on a Year long working holiday visa, and was just hoping for any hints or tips anyone has about getting started over in NZ. Any info at all would be appreciatted, Jobs accommodation etc.

Also, I can't seem to find out wath the equivilant of the irish PPS number is or how to get one, also known as a social security number.

heya..

its called an IRD number..felt way easier to get than my pps when i first got here!!! god.6 documents i needed and im an irish citizen!! i cant think of the website but im sure if you google "nz IRD number" or something you'll find it.

where abouts are you thinking of moving to? myself (kiwi) and my irish boyf are moving at the end of the month.

ps us kiwis love the irish so you'll be grand in NZ.
it'll be great fun trying to find GAA and football id say!! i dont watch it at all but the boyf does.
if you can id say work your way round NZ cause some people i know that went to aussie or nz stayed in one place and kind of regretted it a bit later..but whatever works for you!!
