HI Ellen,

I flew with Malaysian arlines 6 years ago (so you may want to rely on more up to date info). They were excellent in terms of service and food, I would highly recommend them. Comments I've seen recently on various forums suggest they are still excellent and on a par with Singaporean Airlines.

I cann't remember about the baggage allowances but anyway they have probably changed since I flew with them. I would check their website in the first instance and if you have no joy give them a call.

Rgds.,
Nick.

Cabin luggage is still restricted by BAA so what you are allowed to take on board is the same regardless of which airline you are flying with. You can take 1 bag – max size is 45cm x 35cm x 16cm. That’s surprisingly small so be prepared! Still no liquids, cosmetcis, toiletries etc – including no toothpaste or gels. So long as you aren’t going via the US you can take anything you buy in duty free after security onto the plane with you.

Info is on the BAA website at www.baa.com

Good news about cabin luggage. The restrictions are being relaxed from next weekend. There will still be some restrictions in place but nowhere near as bad as it has been.

Hi ellenmelon,

I'm flying malasia air UK-Perth (2 week holiday) and then Perth-NZ with Air Nz.

Here's Malaysia Air's page about baggage allowance size and dimensions (http://hq.malaysiaairlines.com/mys/eng/flying_with_us/before_you_fly/baggage_information/baggage_information.asp), although I'm not sure what the situation is atm!

Here's Skytrax page about Malaysia Air (http://www.airlinequality.com/Airlines/MH.htm), which is very encouraging! I'm sure you'll have a good flight with them; I choose them becasue of such an excellent previous experience.

still no news on what the relaxation of the rules is going to mean - i reckon its going to be next week now before we hear anything.

still even if the ban on toiletries remains you are still allowed to pack it in your hold luggage!
