Hi All
We are in the UKand have just been selected from eoi pool after 2 days of applying (30th August) - have had letter to say application has been passed to london branch - anyone know how long till we get ITA ????
Website says can take up to 3 months ?? Seems like a long time ! Will it really take that long ?
We have 140 points (no job offer, points for immediate skills shortage,10+ years in IT,education) - anyone know how long we might be waiting ?
Thanks!

We waited about 2 weeks but this can vary. I'm sure you won't wait 3 months though :)

Debs,
You sound very similar to me. I also had 140 points, no job offer, 10+ years in IT. It took 2 months for us to receive our ITA from the London office.
My advice is apply for your police certificates now (if you haven't already). It usually takes about 6 weeks to receive them, and they are then valid for 6 months. Also start putting together all the documentation you need for your ITA. We used a couple of A4 file folders.
Also another of piece of advice. If you are claiming points for an area of absolute skills shortage, make sure you have full job descriptions for all of your jobs.
Rgds.,
Nick.

I think it takes a bit longer if you have no job offer, as (I think) the EOI with job offers get processed first.

It took us 2 months with very similiar circumstances - watch for your status to change from selected to decision successful - we got our ITA the next day.
Once you bite the bullet and submit your EOI it seems like everything goes in slow motion but use the time to get together your documentation and plan your move, research areas in NZ you might like to live.
The time is flying by for us now - and in some ways - I'd like to slow it down a little, lots of lasts...
Last UK Christmas
Last Birthday party for current friends
Last Halloween
etc etc
Good Luck

I was picked out of the pool on June 7th and am still waiting for my ITA I'm afraid! - rang emigration service after three months and they said as I didn't have a job offer and was not in an area of real need, it could take longer, but they couldn't give me a timeline. Very frustrating

Maybe it's different in the UK, but in the US they won't award Absolute Shortage Skills w/o a job offer :( . We were bummed, so now we're trying for the visa route to get the job and points. Am I missing something?
