Hello everyone;

I'm seeking to verify some information from people who have moved to NZ in order to teach.

As far as I understand the process, this is what a person needs to do in order to prepare themselves to come overseas and teach in NZ.

1. NZQA - get qualifications assessed.
2. Teacher's council - register and get approved for license.
3. Apply for jobs and receive an offer.
4. Work Visa - apply for a work VISA

I think that there are probably some gaps in my understanding of this process and I would like to use this thread to hammer out the correct information.

Also, if anyone can give me a step by step guide on what needs to be done in order to teach AND emmigrate, that would be excellent.

I am unsure of the actual emmigration process and I'm wondering which path would be the best to pursue.

Thanks for your help...

John

That's one option.

The first 2 steps are a must but once you have done those you can then fill in the EOI and go into the pool. Once you are drawn you will then be able to get PR straight away before going to NZ or getting a job.

Excuse my noob ignorance, but does PR stand for Public Residency?

Also, is there a website for the EOI I want to bookmark it.

hello,

You can answer a couple of questions and get an idea of your points score for the EOI on the NZ immigration website.

www.immigration.govt.nz

Lots of info on there.

Karen
