Hi there,
does anyone know what an Associate's Degree in IT (USA) translates to as far as level in NZ? (For the EOI) I believe it's a "Diploma" in NZ, but no one I've talked to can say what level we can hope to get assessed at. So far I've talked to NZQA, Immigration NZ, Auckland Universary, and a lawyer in Wellington. Hubby's got 7 years experience in the field, and is a Senior Manager, which I understand should count for something in the assessment.
Thanks,
Ana

I'm pretty sure NZ diploma = US Associates. You may want to try doing a search for New Zealand "Polytech" and contact any of them for confirmation. The polytechs are the equivalent to Community Colleges in the US.

Good Luck!

I haven't found much... I know a US Bachlors is worth level 7, and if we do get a level 5 for an Associates, I'm not sure if it will apply on an EOI in IT. I know a 5 is worth 50 points, but it seems to depend on the career... it will all work out one way or another, but it would be nice to know before-hand if we're concentrating on the wrong aspect!
khhill, thanks for the Polytech lead, I haven't tried them yet!
