Hi annette, in terms of voltage and frequency, your appliances should work fine in New Zealand. NZ is 240 volts, 50 hertz. South Africa is 230 volts, 50 hertz.

Hi Annette
The TV system here in NZ is PAL, we are in region 4 for dvd's.
We had to buy a VCR in Nz as our equipment from the uk was a PAL system but not quite the same, we could get pictures but no sound so we had to use the VCR as a tuner and connected it via the AV socket on the TV.
We have a multi region dvd that will play dvd's from here as well as the uk(region 2).
Not sure about playstaion and psp's, they will connect to the AV on the TV but dont know if NZ games will play on your consoul.
Hope this helps
Good luck
Brian and Jan :)

These are good points Brijan. I didn't bring a TV but I've also heard there can be problems with sound if you bring one here.
