Hi all,
My name is Richard and my wife Natalie and I are emigrating in 2007 with our 2 children (Ellery 3yo and Robyn 1 yo) and 2 cats. I am Australian (woohoo no visa problems), work in IT in Frankfurt at the moment while I finish off a distance-learning Masters at the Uni Herts in London. Nat is German with Aussie reisdency and works flat-out looking after our growing brood of new Australians :)
Reading the forums has been very interesting for us and is helping us to decide on which way to jump when we move. We were thinking of Sweden but NZ has always held a special place for us. Currently Southland is our hot favourite.
What are we after? Nat and I want to downshift to a simpler lifestyle, raise our kids in a rural setting (as we both enjoyed when we were growing up) and try our hand at self-sufficiency...
...well, that's the plan...let's see how it pans out..
