Hi all,

Question: does one need to personally receive the blue sticker in the passport at the London Branch office, or is it possible for a partner to get both partners' passports done without the other partner actually being there ?

In other words, can hubby get my blue stickers for me or do I need to show up in person ?

Also, just by chance (if you even believe in such things ;) ), hubby needs to go to Australia next month for his current job. He's considering trying to set up some job interviews in Auckland right after that, seeing as he's 'in the neighbourhood' anyway. Is there any chance he might be able to get his (and my ?) passports stickered in NZ even though our application went through London ?

Thanx in advance for any info and/or thoughts on this matter...

(Mark and) Nanette

PS sorry if this all sounds unduly complicated :o ...

Hi Nanette

OH went to NZIS and got both our passports stickered. I stayed at home with the shippers. :wah You can also get it done by post so, no, you don't need to be there.

I'm unsure on the stickers being stuck in NZ though as I thought you had to apply from NZ for that to work. Or maybe apply from NZ, but I don't know how far down the line you are with your application. But don't take my ramble for gospel, someone who knows will be a long in a while. ;)

Otherwise if he gets a job, couldn't he go back to UK to complete the application? They should fast track it once you get a job offer. :nice1

Hi Smiler,

Thanx for the prompt reply, only just got back behind the PC.

Good to hear that hubby could get both and I see the sense in what you say about the application having been done in London rather than NZ.

We did know about the post thing and are keeping it in mind as an option, but, to be honest, the thought of putting my passport in an envelope :( ... Rationally I know it's perfectly safe of course, but still. As said, we will be keeping it mind though, as a Plan B.

We are actually pretty much in the final stages of attaining PR. Our interview is planned for October 6th in Amsterdam. Took an age to get there with some medical bumps, but it's looking very hopeful now. We would prefer to obtain PR without being dependant on a specific job and are lucky enough not to need a job offer for the points.

Hubby is UK born, but holds double nationality (Dutch). We currently live in Holland and our house has been up for sale since June; the well known waiting game that so many of have to endure...

Anyway, thanx again for your help :nice1, much appreciated !

Nanette

No worries Nanette :nice1

The thought of putting my passport in an envelope petrifies me too, even track and trace. I hope I never have to and would rather get on a plane and take it to London.

Good luck with your plans. :D
