I read in a book that clothing prices in NZ are considerably more expensive then the UK, can anybody please tell me if this is correct.

Clothing and particularly good shoes tend to be more expensive! But the main change you will notice is that you have a more limited choice! You can always get designer gear at inflated prices! The other end of the market is cheap but the standard of workmanship and the cut of some of the clothes beggars belief (I refer to The Warehouse!). Farmers is OK for normal day to day wear though. I stocked up on trousers, shoes, undies, a couple of NEXT jackets and some business shirts before coming out and it was money well spent! It's not the actual cost...you will always find something of a similar price to the UK but it's the quality of what you get for that price that sorts the men from the boys!!!!

Thanks ver much for the feedback, I guess we will ensure that we all have a complete wardrobe of clothes before leaving.
