We are looking to be in NZ (Sth Auckland area) for January 07.

A friend of mine is in a similar position and is moving to NZ soon. She has been told there is a local 'boarding' school in the area she is moving to that sometimes looks for people/couples to live-in and supervise the boarders on a couple of evenings a week in exchange for free/subsidized accommodation.

Just wondered if anyone in the Auckland area had come across anything similar? Think this is probably wishful thinking!

Thought it might be worth a try!
Thanks

Haven't heard of this one, but a number of backpackers do allow people to do cleaning work (normally 4 hours/day) in exchange for accomodation. This is usually dorm style though. I know Wildlife House and World Wide in Wellington do this.
