Hi
We are thinking of having a heat pump installed in our house.
Has anyone around Welly come across a reputable company for this sort of work ?
Thanks

Sorry I was waiting to ask my friend which company they used as a pointer on who to avoid, because they were pretty useless. I can't remember their name but the company have an address in the gorge.
I'm seeing them at the weekend. :nice1

I know a guy who works for Cosycool also marketed as Redway electrical in Porrirua. Its a small 3man firm and my mate Hayden has been there for years and was also made partner, and he worked with me in the UK four years ago and he is a quality sparky and straight up guy :yes . ring em on 0800 269 926 oremail sales@redway.co.nz and tell em Hayden's mate Chris from Whangarei told you so :nice1

I was speaking to him this morning and he actually left 3 weeks ago (i didn't know that) to start up his own electrical firm. i'll ring him and ask if he is still doing heatpumps then post his details up for you.

Right, I spoke to Hayden today, and he said yep he still does heatpumps (has years of experiance on these) and would gladly quote you. You can ring him direct on his mobile 02177 2757 ;) or email him on handtallen@xtra.co.nz

Just had Hayden put in our heat pumps, can't recommend him highly enough. Professional, cheap, put them in and my husband could not find the outside unit as it was hidden so well. Plus the units are so quiet and do the job of heating the whole house with just 2 units. We put them on timer come on at 5pm go off at 7am and adjust the temp when we go to bed. Sorted:raebanana
This forum really works for recommendations thanks Charlosparky

Just out of curiousity, roughly how much does it cost to have a heatpump installed ? I know it will vary.. but useful to get a ballpark figure...
(sadly I'm in Christchurch, so probably a bit far for Hayden, although any c.church recommendations gratefully received!)

I've just come home to nice new heatpump today :)
Cost of ours was around 3700 for the largest Fujitsu hi-wall - the asta30. It would have be 3.5 but needed extra electric work doing. This was a bit of a deal as other quotes were coming around the 4.2k mark for this size unit.

2 units all singing and dancing Fuji models. $5,700 inc installation. Heats our 4 bedroom house whihch is 120 sqm so quite small and all on one level except attic office. Cheaper than any other quote we got as they were saying $3500 plus inst for each unit.
In Cyprus we paid to have them in every room, wished I had known then you only needed 2.
