Hello,

I've been reading very useful threads on the Making the Move forum about using Golden Arrow or Airpets, but I wonder if anyone has used Passportforpets, who are a division of Air Supply Shipping (http://www.passportforpets.co.uk/index.html)

I have had a chat with them - helpful and knowedgable - and also emailed someone who had on their blog talked about sending her cat to NZ, and she spoke highly of them.

Their quote too was outstanding - under £800 for two cats together in the same container. This is based on me doing the Defra/MAF required forms and jabs through my own vet beforehand, but luckily my practice is very on the ball and have had experience of doing so before, and have basically talked me through it - looking at a couple of hundred quid, plus a bit of hassle. They do offer a free airline approved container though, which is a bonus.

I also have to delivery Pickle and Spooky to their offices at Heathrow on the morning of the flight - also fine as it's only an hour away and I'd rather be with them up until the last minute.

I just wondered if anyone had any testimonials or feedback?

Thanks in advance - the breadth of knowledge on this forum is amazing!

Jo - are you sending your cats with passport for pets? just wondered what you thought of them so far.

I have just sent the form to them for a quote for my dog as the lady from Crown who came to qoute for shipping our stuff said that Crown have changed from Airpets to Airsupply (Passport for Pets)

Golden Arrow have already quoted me and they seem very professional but i just want to see if i can get someone nearer and/or cheaper.
Airpets so far haven't bothered to come back to me (sent the request over 2 weeks ago and a chase up e-mail last week too so not impressed with them).

Anyone else used Passport for Pets/Airsupply?

Hello, an update on where I am!

My cats are booked to fly on November 24th with Airsupply. Michelle, the girl I have been dealing with has fielded my million questions with patience and been nothing but helpful. She's sent me photos of containers and been prompt at all times.

I originally found them after emailing someone who's mentioned on their blog that they'd sent their cat to New Zealand, and she spoke highly of them.

I am sorting out all the required MAF/Defra forms directly with my vet - this is obviously a bit of a hassle but I'd rather do it myself.

I called Airpets, and they were a bit snotty and wanted over twice as much.

So, I'll have more news on the 24th Nov (and 30 hours after that!) but the signs are good so far.

Good Luck with the move. I'll see what they come back with then decide between them and GA.

Hi Jo/Olivia,

Sorry - I've got no feedback to give on Passport for pets, but in terms of quotes and Airpets - I did have to wait about three weeks for my quote from them. I got my GA quote within a couple of days. Anyway, Airpets (who are much closer to me) put me off slightly, as the quote states in big writing at the beginning "we accept no liability for death or injury of your pets". Fair enough - but not the first thing I want to read about an organisation. also, I just somehow didn't feel quite as good about them, as I did after I read all the GA infopack. That said, Debbie used them for her dog and had no problems.

Anyway, have opted for GA for a number of reasons and phoned up last friday to try and get the cat booked in. by Tuesday of this week, I had confirmation letter, with her Air NZ flight no, way bill reference, instructions for collecting her at the other end and sample pots in self addressed/stamped envelopes to their vets with the dates written on for filling if you know what I mean! So touch wood, - so far they are living up to their wonderful reputation!

Don't know if that helps - but just thought I'd share my experience to date..

I got my quote from Golden Arrow in the post the day after i rang them so i was very impressed. Can't see why Airpets have to take 3 weeks to do a quote, it can't be that difficult to work out surely.

and for what its worth GA were £100 cheaper as well as quicker.. which wasn't really a factor, but it all adds up.

In the grand scheme of things though, - it shocking that it costs more to fly a cat than a person. She should be in premium economy for that price - with free milk and a little electronic mouse game to keep her amused and episodes of dog borstal to watch...

;) Sorry - too many meetings today - my brain has melted....
