Sorry to have taken so long to introduce ourselves - we have been lurking for a while and loving the forum! Currently living in the US (Washington DC Metro Area - Maryland side), we are making the big move in early January. We have the PR and plan to settle in Nelson, be it in tents to start with (the odds of finding a decent rental in Nelson in January for our large numbers appear to be only slightly better than winning the lotto). Speaking of our numbers : there are seven of us. Our kids range in age from 10 to 19 - four boys, one girl. The two older boys hope to start uni in Christchurch in February. My husband and I took a reccie trip about a year ago, mainly focusing on Nelson, which was our favorite and did not disappoint. We wanted to avoid large cities but still settle in a place lively enough for our current and rising teenagers :yes. Our life is currently beyond hectic which is the main reason behind our lurking but no posting MO (and the emmigration). Hope to be more active once we make the move. Many thanks to all - especially Diny, Carol, Avalon, MB, and too many others to mention, for their posts I've enjoyed reading and learning from in the past months.
