Just thought I would start this thresh thread to any pomms who are out there awaiting the Kiwi call from RNZAF, I am about to attest on Monday with seven other successful's for October intake. Then fly out on Air New Zealand on Tuesday flight mid afternoon, I know there are others who will follow in March07 and later so good luck to you all it has been well worth all the hard work to gain PR and the 12 month agony of recruitment and the big letter to say you are successful. For others recruitment goes on into 2008 and good luck to those wannabe's also, this is my second time around for NZ and now I am finally there and with PR comes the agonising decision to leave our two sons behind who have started their initial 24 week training in the British Army. Auckland awaits us and we are all so excited as we know what awaits us this time and tinted round glasses syndrome hopefully is not a problem with us been there and wore the tee-shirt. Have been rather lazy on posting threads lately but my excuse is there was too much planning before hand but hopefully when settled will be able to keep others posted on progress and questions that others have regarding this thread RNZAF/RAF TRANSFERS. Good luck to others in the future who follow.

Thanks Smiler

Have read so many threads and so many ex-brits with so much knowledge and so many brave family's who have stuck out the first year which is hard wherever you lay down your roots, but now going back in uniform cements that bond with NZ, Its not only my career its my children's future and this time around we have to try that little bit harder to make thinks work. I know there will be times ahead that we all miss something about the UK and believe you me there are some great memories there for all of us to look back on in the years we have lived there, It doesn't make it any easier leaving your sons behind and grandchildren also my parents who are in their retirement. But hopefully in time we will apreciate the time we have spend in UK and this is the beginning of a new era for all of us and hopefully will open up avenues for other family members to visit.

Cheers
