Well, after having our EOI picked out in March, getting everything together and our ITA back for the end of June, we finally had our settlement telephone interview last week with NZIS and apparently will find out the decision within 14 days.
Since we started this almost a year ago, I've been content to accept that its a slow process (unless you get a job offer and we want to move within our own time frame not driven by needing to be somewhere for a set date, so opted not to do that), but now we're so so close - its been a week since the interview, - Its driving me crazy! having waited months and months, to be selected , medicals, copies of birth certificates (don't even start me on police certificates) and been completely calm and accepting the whole way through, - one more week should be a breeze, but its completely the opposite!
Anyone else felt like this ? or am I just a typical impatient aries who wants everything "this minute and preferably yesterday!" :o

I'm sure you're going to get the result you want and you'll be flying out in no time.
best of luck

Yes!! - from a fellow Arian
I'm just the same, and we've being going through this almost 2 years and have just had to put our move back till January. Not the best thing to do for an Aries :no
Keep yourself busy and time will fly by.

Pip! I'm right there with you. Interview was 12 days ago and I'm going slowly insane waiting for the answer. Remembering a horror story of someone who waited 6 months for their answer. But he did say 2 weeks, so I'm hoping it will only be a couple more days...

A fellow arian here too. :D
Yes I felt the same, it's awful being stuck on hold in limbo land. I hope you hear real soon.
Are you sure you don't want to send your CO a little friendly email?;)

Thanks all - as ever the words of wisdom and support are much appreciated. I did think about calling the case officer, but then again, he said within 14 days and its only been 7, so I don't want to look like I'm hassling him just in case he changes his decision! (assuming of course its in the positive)
Nice to know that Tigerlily is in the same position and managing to stay calm even after 12 days - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. And definitely good advice about keeping busy, probably can't justify our normal annual snowboarding holiday to the US in January, so will focus on sorting out a cheap self drive weekend to the french alps instead. Alternatively, I could work harder in the office, but somehow thats less appealing!
thanks again and keep us posted Tigerlily!

Did they give you any inclination at the end of the interview as to the result, I know some folks have been told that they are probably OK, but the decision needs to be double checked by another officer?
Now, thats probably made you panic even more if they didnt, but he is just playing it totally by the book...

Day 13. Zen master takes over. Oooooom. I have patience. I think it helps a lot that I live at GMT +8 which means that if there is no message by 9 o'clock in the morning, there won't be one today. It leaves the rest of the day free from obsessive e-mail checking. Mostly.

Arrghh.. I was thinking of you this morning and wondering if you had heard anything. Guess with the time difference, today is day 14. You must have nerves of steel... maybe they are waiting for friday to set your weekend off on a good start!
Hang in there.. maybe there's some truth in the old "no news is good news"!
Have you decided where you're heading for (assuming all goes to plan)

:laugh I remember this exact time-difference permutation. We were living in the same part of the US as you, tigerlily, and each morning before work I crept downstairs and turned on the PC to check at about 6.30-7am... then again when I got to work...then I knew there would be nothing until the next day!
I've said before here that one of the more trying days was when I got home on a Friday evening to find an e-mail expressing uncertainty about our upcoming NZIS interview, then found out within minutes that our London CO -- who might have been able to help us straighten that all out -- had just left that Friday for two weeks' vacation! And, of course, by that time it was Saturday morning in London and business had closed for the week even in the US! That was a trying start to our weekend.
But you know what? By early the next week (i.e., three or four days after that Friday) everything had been resolved without even having to turn to our CO. Indeed, when she got back from her vacation our interview had been arranged and conducted, our interviewer's report was on her desk, and we got PR soon afterwards. :yes
The waiting is hard. But as a general comment and encouragement to applicants, I hope that our "Friday evening" experience above gives you some hope that -- even when a situation with your application looks like it might have met a difficulty -- things can change quite quickly.
All the best to Pip, tigerlily and anyone else awaiting the outcome of their application. :)

I've just put up a post about our application being approved. We were told that it was being second checked and that this would probably take about a week but in the end it took 14 days. They were the longest days of my life but worth it in the end.
I'm sure you'll both hear soon and then it'll be celebrations all round.
