Hello

After the EOI have been submitted and selected what is the documents needed for the next step?
Should we undergo a medical examination althought we have done it before for WTR? and how long does the whole process take from EOI selection to get PR approved?

Thanks all,

Hannah

Hi bpk
your medicals only last 3 months so i would suggest you don't have them done until nearer the time you submit ITA. A good way of working out what documents you need is to go through each of the EOI answers you gave and say to yourself "how would i prove that". So if you have claimed 4 years work experience in a particular job....you could use payslips, contract of employment, letter offering you a job, reference from your employer and so on. If you are qualified you could show your certificates along with transcript of courses. For english language you could show evidence that your course was conducted in English (transcript/certificate) or evidence that your job required good english (job reference) or English exams from school or simply a statement that you have lived in England and it is your first language etc. For partnership you can use bank accounts, joint names on bills/rental agreement/mortgage deed/childrens birth certificates. Many pieces of evidence can be used more than once - i used my degree certificate as evidence of both qualifications and english language ability.
You will need full birth certificates and a criminal record check so worth sending off for those now (note criminal check only valid for 6 months).
I laid out my application in a simple way, with a covering page for each section that stated what evidence was enclosed and why. Eg. "Proof of xx yeras in xxx employment - in this section i have included 1. offer of employment 2. contract of employment 3. job description and person specification 4. reference from my employer.
This approach helped me double check i'd enclosed everything and also made it clear to the immigration officer what i'd enclosed and why. I didn't go over the top (e.g. i didn't supply payslips as i felt i had enough other info and submitting 200 payslips was just too much!!). When i took the ITA pack to the immigration office the officer even complimented me on how i'd put it together (!!!) and told me he thought he would whizz through it as it was very clearly laid out. He did - it took him just 2 months.
I know it sounds a bit anal, but it worked for me!
The partner stuff threw me as i'd read so much about sending in photos of couples, and statements from friends etc. However, i just sent in copies of bills and individual bank accounts (we didn't have joint acct.) showing transfers of money to each other or to utility companies. I had also read that not having a joint bank acct. would be a problem but the immigration officer said that it was actually not a problem. So a few bills and savings account statements were enough.
Any more queries, please PM me as i'm happy to help
regards
hannah
PS having both our names on children's birth certificates.....and my oldest being 11 years old.... played a big part in proving partnership I must add!

I have many publications in English in International Journals as well as some books. Is that enough evidence for English Language? (In addition, my study -both undergraduate and postgraduate- was in English)

Your journal publications won't count as English language qualification, as they could have easily been translated by someone.
Your academic study undertaken in English will count. The EOI asks this question.

You need a full borth certificate (with details of both parents) as well as a passport.

bpk, I am confused - if you already have wtr, why are you resubmitting an EOI?

I did not submitted EOI before! It is true I have WTR because I apply for WTR from the beginning, but I discovered later that EOI would be better!
So I am doing it for thw first time.
