My three kids in the past few weeks have seen the dentist at School .The older two were fine ,but Louise [7] got a letter saying she needed treatment and an appointment for in the holidays at a nearby school dental clinic.
My kids have always seen the dentist twice a year in UK with no problems ,so it was a shock to Little lou to have the dentist do any work on her teeth. She had a little hole which needed filling .
This was done free of charge [apart from the $30 on a new bratz doll to help with the pain !] and the nice lady dentist gave her 4 stickers for being so brave.

Poor thing! Hope she's ok. My girls saw the dental nurse at school too - luckily they were fine. However, I've heard of a couple of people from the UK and US who, after seeing the dental nurse at school, had to have cavities filled when they'd previously had no problems. I don't know if it has anything to do with the water, but it does seem strange... It's probably worth seeking a second opinion.

My boys have been to the school dentist too. Both of them have had to have teeth out - due to overcrowding, not cavities.

I have to say the system over here (school dentists) is great.

As for the worries about checking the water (for flouride) - my hubby has had to have a few fillings since getting here and his dentist has told him that he needs to use a flouride toothpaste as there's not enough added to the water here.
