I apologise if this has been discussed on here before but I have been unable to find it.
We are coming over on an investment visa in Feb 07 which means we have to stay in NZ for a minimum of five years which is o.k.
What I would like to know is regarding my british passport.
It expires beginning of 2009,do I have to send it back to UK for renewal or can it be done in NZ at somewhere like British consulate. If it is done in UK will I then have to reapply for my blue stickers?

It can be done at the British Consulate, no problem.

You have to apply for your stickers to be transferred, but that's nothing like applying for new ones.

You could always renew them now before you come, its cheaper to do it in the UK, although you will lose some of the time off them, ie they wont make them valid till 2019, just 2016.

The other advantage of that way is that your NZ visas will be in it, and you wont have to bother getting them moved either.
