Has anyone else out there been refused points for work experinece as a Professional Engineer just because their degree wasn't accredited under the Washington Accord? If so, how did you get around this.
Currently having problems even though I'm a Chartered Engineer (CEng) under the Engineering Council in the UK and a Corporate Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Engineers (MHKIE), both of which organisations are signaturees of the Washington Accord - if they feel I've achieved sufficient experience how the hell can NZIS turn around and say otherwise, especially when it looks like I could use these qualifications to get Chartered Professional Engineer status in New Zealand through reciprical rights agreements with the Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand.
I thought HK's Govt. departments were the most bureaucratic on the planet but it looks like NZIS's Beijing Office is giving them a run for their money....
I'm almost at the point of just giving up and moving to Oz instead ;)
