We are in Kapiti and looking for a corner spa bathtub (at the cheaper end of the spectrum) to replace the old tub in our bathroom. Any ideas on a place in Porirua, Welly or Paraparaumu with good prices? Do the sellers offer installation, or would we need to contact someone separately?

Thanks!

Actually - not sure if its useful - but if you pop to Petone - theres a place called "Home Ideas Center". Its kind of a "one stop showroom" for lots of suppliers and well worth a wander round. Basically - various manufacturers of homeware rent space in there and show thier wares. You get a sheet of paper and a little paencil - and circle any numbers of stands that interest you - and then take the paper to the desk and get given a load of brochures for the companies you want to look at. You will probably get phone calls from some of them too.

I have a feeling that the spa baths on show will not be at the lower end of the price bracket ;) but its worth a look.

A bit of advice - make sure you see it working and hear how loud it is before you decide to buy! We thought the jacuzzi in our house in the UK would be amazing until we started using it - it was so loud it was hard to relax! Our outside spa here (which is an oldie by the looks of it) is quieter! Just a thought.... ;)

Hi Jess
We had a new spa bath to replace our old bath 2 years ago, we bought ours from Plumbing World, they have a brochure in their showrooms which may give you some ideas and prices, they have a branch at 118 Kapiti Rd Paraparaumu, you need to find a good plumber, they may well have some business cards there you could try.

We chose a long rectangular model as i could'nt lay down in a cnr model-just a thought before you buy

hope it helps

Thanks all! We'll visit Plumbing World first, which looked good online and is the closest, and try to find out how loud the tubs are too -- good thought! I'll let you know. (I might chicken out on spending the money once I get there though).

We were in Plumbing World on Kenepuru Drive, Porirua last weekend looking for the exact same thing! - $2,000 for the cheaper end of the spectrum - they weren't that helpful & they didn't have a very good display (well it was abysmal!).

Mastertrade on Kenepuru Drive, Porirua was much better - they had a good display & loads of brochures & really helpful friendly staff - similar pricing.

Also, Placemakers sell a nice corner spa for $1,999.

Your best bet is to go to the manufacturers for brochures & choose what you want, they all buy from the same manufacturers - not a whole heap of choice - so play them off each other to get the best price. We found that Clearlite and Englefield do good, reasonably priced ranges & have great websites. Displays in the shops usually only show 1 corner spa bath, and usually not the one you want to buy!!

Well worth taking Moorf's advice on finding out how loud they are but in the showrooms we saw it might be impossible - one of them was on the wall (displayed sideways - how the heck you're supposed to get in it & see if you fit I don't know!!)

Good luck!
